New Wholesome Treats from the Wholesome Table
The Wholesome Table has been an unstoppable force in changing the perception of what ‘green’ and ‘healthy’ tastes like. Gone are the days when healthy food are described as dull, boring, and bland; as sustainable, quality, and delicious healthy food have come to stay. Despite making stomachs happy and improving lifestyles with three branches under its belt, The Wholesome Table shows no signs of slowing down as it continues to churn out new delicious wholesome treats that will surely get everyone excited!
GLUTEN-FREE WAFFLES
TREAT I: ALL DAY BREAKFAST
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and The Wholesome Table’s irresistible selection definitely makes it easier for us to get our morning fare by making some of their breakfast dishes available all day (yay for all sleepyheads)!
ACAI BOWL (P490)
It starts off with their famous Gluten-Free Waffles which may be paired with a choice of strawberry compote (P410) or apple pear cranberry (P320). However, you’d easily ignore these once you have a taste of their addicting coco butter topping (Pro Tip: They know that diners can’t have enough of this spread that they give an additional serving of this butter for free!). When you’re not having it for breakfast, these waffles can serve as delicious dessert options; so are the Mango Pistachio Chia Pudding (P260) and their Acai Bowls (P490).
SUPERFOOD STICKY RICE
Looking for something healthy, filling, and unique? The Wholesome Table’s gives the classic kakanin a ‘wholesome spin’ by topping the latik-flavored sticky rice with loads of good stuff such as hemp seeds, chia seeds, and cocoa nibs among others!
LAMB ADOBO (P750)
However, I personally opt for savory types of breakfast. The Wholesome Table’s Lamb Adobo boasts of tender lamb chunks with a marinade that gives you that perfect vinegar kick that we’re looking for in a Filipino breakfast. It’s paired with a cup of garlic rice, and two eggs. Now aren’t you glad that some of its breakfast dishes are now served all day?
TREAT II: SOLO SALAD SERVINGS
CHICKEN SALAD
My favorite salad from The Wholesome Table would be the Chicken Dukkah Salad; however, its generous serving size is recommended for sharing. Fortunately, the management has yielded to the popular demand of making solo salad servings available. Not only are these more budget-friendly, but it also allows one to have more room to sample the restaurant’s other offerings. The Chicken Salad (different from that of the Dukkah Salad) is a new addition to its fresh salad roster. It refreshingly comes with apple chunks, blueberries and grapes; and is sweetened by a drizzle of raspberry vinaigrette.
TREAT III: NEW DIPS
SPINACH CHEESE DIP
The restaurant’s house breads are so good, that they deserve a spin-off concept of their own! While we wait and hope for this to happen, we can always order their dips and spreads to have our fill of them. If you want an alternative to their Burrata, you can opt for their newly launched Spinach Cheese Dip, which features a hot plate of baked cheese in all its gooey glory. If you wish for something healthier, opt for the Hummus Dip or the Guacamole Dip as these are paired with fresh vegetable sticks.
TREAT IV: NEW PIZZAS
GRILLED CHICKEN CURRY PIZZA
I personally haven’t tried The Wholesome Table’s pizza selections before, but their new additions, the Grilled Chicken Curry Pizza and the Harvest Pizza definitely made me curious! I’d expect the Grilled Chicken Curry Pizza to be overwhelmingly spiced with curry powder, and cumin; however, this pizza definitely defied expectations. It comes subtly spiced, as the chicken curry topping is curiously paired with caramelized nuts, which gives a pleasant (and surprising) sweetness to it.
HARVEST PIZZA
The Harvest Pizza can be likened to a salad bowl converted to a pizza. You’ve got your kale, squash, and cherry tomatoes (veggies you'd never associate with pizzas) laid out on the crust; but this combination surprisingly works as these beautifully blended with the cheese and the mushrooms flavors that stand out in every bite. This is a perfect way to make non-veggie eaters enjoy vegetables!
TREAT V: RICE BOWLS
The Wholesome Table’s main dishes can be quite daunting for someone badly craving for some simple comfort food. To address this, it has come out with healthy and delicious rice bowls that most of us are familiar with. The Gyudon (my personal favorite among the three) and the Bibimbap bowls are exclusively available in its Estancia branch. The Chicken Yakitori may sound typical, but it’s actually the most interesting. The chicken skewers are served with lemon wedges meant to further bring out their smoky flavor. However, the best bit of this bowl is the immensely crunchy chicken skin it comes with (think: chicken skin with the texture of bacon!). Promise, this is heaven on a strip!
