Tapenade: Buffet Without The Guilt

Currently priced at P1300/pax, it grants the diner to unlimited access to Tapenade's amazing Salad Room – which wonderfully features more than salads and greens. I was pretty surprised that when we dined earlier this year, it also came with unlimited servings of its creamy Cauliflower Soup and your drink of choice (I opted for the Watermelon shake) - items which were not previously included in my previous visits in Tapenade!

You can start with its selection of cold cuts and cheeses – which can rival other regular hotel buffet spreads – and yes, it comes with all of the works – walnuts, crackers, grapes, dried fruits – nothing but the full grazing board experience for the most discerning diner. Pair these with their selection of bread and dips. A personal favorite of mine would be their papadom – Tapenade, being a Mediterranean restaurant, serves a mean tapenade – so that, paired with the papadom makes for an appetizingly crunchy start to your meal!

There’s also a selection of pre-made finger sandwiches, quiches and freshly made wraps. A toaster is available in case you prefer them warmed up a bit.

As its name suggests, the salad room featured its own fresh selection of greens, toppings and dressings.

If you don’t want to make your own salads, they do have pre-mixed ones – my personal favorite was the Mango Kani salad.

There’s also a make your own Caesar Salad station – and yes, I do help myself to a serving of bacon every time I enter the room.

However, the highlight of the room is not its greens but rather its fresh array of seafood – plump and juicy shrimp, fresh Aklan oysters and mussels. Fresh slices of sashimi and cured salmon are also available. They do charge a cooking fee if you wish to have them baked or cooked in garlic butter!

Of course, the nice thing about Tapenade is that the Salad Room is simply a single item in its expansive menu! Interesting pizzas, and main courses can be ordered ala carte to add on to your dining experience. Personally though, the Salad Room is more than enough to fill you up!
